Voluntary work
Working toward reducing inequality is one of my lifetime goals. Here are some of the volunteer projects I have been involved in or am still engaged with:
Long-Legs Mailbox project (2022 - now), supporting left-behind children (who live with grandparents while their parents work far away) in rural China by writing letters to discuss their studies and life.
Award: Best reply quality of the letters (文情奖), 2024Women in Tech (2020 - now), editor and designer. This initiative began as a group on the Chinese app Douban and has since developed into a larger non-profit with blogs, podcasts, articles, and interviews.
A Class in Childhood (2018-2019), supporting children in primary schools in rural areas of China by teaching online lessons throughout the semester. Course taught: Chinese literature.
